New batch of snow and I'm wondering what the effect has been. Hope to find time to get up there later this week but really needing to know current conditions for Mike.

I was up there Easter Sunday April 16th. All weekend we heard that there was multiple inches of snow and possibly traction tires would be required. However upon arriving, we found the conditions to be awesome! There was some small additional accumulations especially inside the trees, however nothing that would prevent a safe ascent.
Overall the snow is drastically reduced compared to what it has been. So much so that 4 WD vehicles are starting to park in the approach...
Also the springs area was the cleanest i've seen it yet .... I found no trash anywhere around the tubs, below the tubs etc...
One thing of note, is that the divider between the tubs is getting quite dirty. Even after we scrubbed and vacuumed the tubs out, I still felt it wasn't good enough... the divider had quite a bit of "moss" on it...

Fri, April 28, 2006 - 2:34 AMI went up there this past Monday and ran across a bunch of fools blocking the access road with their so-called traction tireed pickups (7 young men who had the audacity to soak in cutoff jeans!). I think I scared the sh*t out of them when I arrived and challenged their presence. They got all nervous so I took advantage and had them scrubbing the tub (including the divider which we took out and did a thorough scraping). Then I taught them how to set up a siphon.
They weren't a bad sort and did have garbage bags to take trash out with.
I note that the fire-builders have been up there again . . . and also that cracked supply line seems to have a 22Cal hole in it. Also some small bore shotgun casings on the trail up near the Meadows Creek area (second stream crossing up the trail)
btw, how was Palm Springs?
