Hi everybody, long time Tribe member, just joined the group.
I am traveling to the Olympic Pennisula next week for a lttle hiking/camping.
First question, is Scenic still open, and if so, would a Toyota Corolla get me close enough to hike to it?
Second, I am probably gonna be spending some time on the Hoh River Trail, and at Enchanted Valley. Does anyone know of hot springs around those sites, or of a site (outside of soak.net), that will give me my hot spring fix? Preferrably without GPS coordinates because mine is broken, but I could always figure out how to get there beforehand if thats all you got.

Sun, June 3, 2007 - 10:31 AMFrom what I've been reading on here and the Scenic blog the springs are not open. The only time I've heard of people using it is during workparties. They are trying to get it cleaned up to get approved for use permits from King County.
If your out on the Olympic Peninsula you should go to the hotsprings out there. They are in the middle of the woods and it's a relatively short easy hike to get to them. I think there may be a small fee to get in to the state park too. -

Thu, August 30, 2007 - 11:40 AMOlympic Hot Springs off the Elwha River entrance to Olympic National Park is your best bet. There are no restrictions to getting in although there is a 2.5 mile hike to get there. It is clothing optional. Apparently there are no federal laws regarding having fun while nude.
I too have been wondering about the progress of Scenic. I was hoping to go with my girlfriend on Labor Day (2007). If anyone from this tribe knows if this is possible we are more than willing to trade some labor. Thanks. I can be emailed directly at billacarpenter@yahoo.com
